Lifespan Integration Therapy in Tacoma and online in Washington
You don’t want to be in therapy forever. Maybe you can’t put words to it, but you’re struggling. Or maybe you’ve talked a lot in therapy before, and still aren’t feeling better. Something’s just not changing and you’re ready for a different approach. You want something that’s going to help you feel less overwhelmed, less stressed, less out of control. You want to feel connected, free from the past, living in the NOW, content with yourself, and enjoying your relationships and your life. You want a solution that empowers you to take control of your mental health, and live your best life.
Lifespan Integration Therapy is a gentle therapy that heals without re-traumatizing.
Lifespan integration is not traditional “talk therapy”. It is a powerful yet gentle approach that uses the newest research and understanding of how the brain and body hold memories and trauma in the body. It incorporates up-to-date research on neuroscience and how the brain builds neural connections or associations which are then embodied and show up as emotional and physical reactions, and inform how we think of ourselves, others, life, and our connection to the present moment. On the surface it appears very simple, but powerful changes begin to show up when this therapy is used consistently as part of treatment.
Lifespan Integration works by reorganizing your memories, reconnecting you to your bodily responses, and increasing your awareness and connection to now, yourself, others, and life.
I use many tools when working with my clients, but Lifespan Integration therapy is one of my favorite tools to use because it is so gentle, and yet I see-and my clients report- powerful change and growth happening when I use this therapy. I enjoy using mind-body approaches to counseling that allow my clients to turn down the thinking part of their brain, turn up the creative part of the brain, and reconnect to their internal wisdom, their bodily experience, and the present.
Many therapists and clients alike believe that while CBT can help with thinking through things, and EMDR can help with healing recent traumas such as PTSD, Lifespan Integration is one of the best therapies for healing childhood trauma. It can have powerful effects on healing relational trauma and PTSD symptoms before traumatic events are deeply rooted in the long term memory. And it establishes a strong internal core identity, which can help clients recover from symptoms of dissociation, “personality disorders”, anxiety, depression, and much more.
A lot of new research is supporting therapy approaches that focus on bodily connection and creative (“right brain”) engagement to heal from the past and achieve optimal mental health. This means that talking is not the best first approach in therapy, but can only come after the body moves out of a fear/survival state by using creative and relationship building techniques (which is what Lifespan Integration is). Only then can the logical/cognitive part of the brain begin to problem solve and find solutions. This is why I believe Lifespan Integration is so effective.
You are ready to try something new. You are open to cutting edge techniques and lasting results.
