How do you know if you have experienced trauma?
You’ve heard of trauma therapy, but you’re not sure that your experiences qualify as “trauma” or if you just overreacting or being ungrateful. It can feel hard to know if your trauma is valid when you weren’t physically, sexually, or emotionally abused or neglected as a child. But trauma comes in many forms, and if you don’t know what to look for, it can get worse and end up disrupting your life or even cause feelings of powerlessness, hopelessness, and anxiety..
